Trip to Lavasa | Lavasa Travel Blog
Lavasa is a privately planned city being built near Pune, It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town. Lavasa is best for the individuals who wish to get away from the rushing about of daily life for a weekend. The lavish cover of greenery encompassing this hill station springs to life amid the Monsoon season. Lavasa is around 65 km from Pune and approximately 190 km from Mumbai.
We chose the waterfront shaw hotel for our stay in Lavasa, this property was really good as it offers an apartment on the waterfront at the Dasve promenade, nestled between lake Warasgaon and the picturesque mountain ranges of Lavasa. Our apartment was 1BHK , the best part was the kitchen as we cooked our evening meal ourselves and for dinner we went downstairs, as far as I remember this hotel has around 7 restaurants which offer different kinds of cuisines as there is The all American diner, chor bizarre, oriental octopus, Pizzawala and many more.
Next day in the morning we went early to explore the place, the place is beautiful, walking by the side of the lake was magical. There’s something for everyone here! For all, adventure junkies, rock climbing, pontoon boat rides and rappelling. For the health-conscious, take a walk to the beautiful Temghar Dam. Also, if you are into trekking, there are many options to choose from.
When it comes to shopping, try the local bazaar. Looking to take back souvenirs? Bamboosa is a great place to shop for items and artifacts made from bamboo. Next day we went to Imagica.
We chose a weekday for Imagica as we have been told that there is a huge crowd on weekends, we just loved Imagica, there were so many rides, the performances, and so many other attractions. Imagica has something to offer for every age group so it becomes a perfect family place for a full day outing. Imagica has a theme park, water park, and a snow park, it is not possible to cover all the three parks in a day so we chose to visit a theme park.
We started with the haunted house known as Salimgarh, then it was the time to experience real-time video game through Ali Baba and Chalis Chor ride and it’s absolutely brilliant. Then we went on and on to experience so many things. We went for Rajasauras river adventure, it is basically a ride with unnerving water boat adventure packed with sudden twists and ambush turns with a splash in the end.
When it came to the performances, we were pleasantly surprised by the Wrath of the Gods, which was an extremely memorable sensory treat. The food, which makes for an important part of the theme park experience, we went for a buffet lunch, it was really good and we quite enjoyed everything we tried. The whole experience was made even better by the super courteous staff and the availability of much-needed amenities, such as bag storage at each ride. Imagica was total value for money!
