Weekend Trip to Goa from Bangalore

A trip to Goa from Bangalore:  Since August 2016 I have done trips to Himachal Pradesh (Dharamshala and Mcleodganj) and Rajasthan (Jaipur, Ajmer, and Pushkar). All these were a solo trip and it all started from New Delhi.
I came to Bangalore in November 2016 and planned a trip to Goa with my friends to celebrate year-end 2016 and the New Year 2017. We planned with three friends (Swadhin, Saurabh and Me). I booked the hotel 15 days prior to the trip just to avoid the non-availability of the rooms in Goa as it was the year-end. After booking the hotel ticket, I started pushing my friends for the trip just to avoid any last time cancellation by them. One of my friend in Bangalore lives next to my house only, so to convince him was much easy. But another friend was in BTM and when the trip date started coming close he lost his phone, so it became very difficult for me to update anything regarding the trip. Somehow I used to update him on Facebook.
Finally, the trip date came and we all started the trip on 29th December 2016 to Goa. Our bus was from Marathalli Bridge Bangalore. It was non-AC Bus. I preferred non-AC just to cut the expenses of the trip but the bus was so nice. The bus started at sharp 9:45 from Marathalli Bridge. It was my first trip to Goa so I was very excited. The bus stopped a few more places to take the passenger and after that, it left Bangalore and the Bus was on the way to Goa. After more than an hour of running the bus stopped at a restaurant for dinner and refreshment. After 15 min of the stop, the bus started its final run to Goa.

Year End in Goa: 30th December

We reached Goa 2 hour late from its scheduled time. The bus was scheduled to reach at 9:30 AM it we reached around 12 o’clock in the noon. My friends were hungry, so the moment we got down from the bus we went to a Goan restaurant where my friends had Dosa and I took only soup as I was not feeling hungry. After finishing the breakfast, we were searching for the cab to our hotel. But cab guy asked for 1,000 from the Panjim Bus stop. One of my friends told let's go by Bus as it will help us to explore little about Goa. We agreed to take the bus from the Panjim bus stop, our hotel was in Morjim and there was no direct bus from Panjim to Morjim so we took the first bus from Panjim to Mapusa and them from Mapusa to Morjim.
It took around one and half hours to reach Morjim from two buses and we checked in the hotel at around 2: 45 noon. Our hotel was little expensive but it was very beautiful.

Most of the hotel occupant were Russians. After getting to the hotel we all started getting ready to explore the city of Goa. As we had a swimming pool as well in the hotel so we decided to swim for a while in the pool and after few minutes of swimming, we all left the hotel room and went to the beach next to our hotel. The Morjim beach was next to our hotel so we decided to visit this beach very first.

The Morjim Beach is very calm and mostly visited by Russian tourist. We took few pictures of the beach and then we decided to have something on the beach. We went to a restaurant on the beach and there we ordered Rockfish and Paratha. One of my friends was vegetarian so he ordered Tandoori Roti and Paneer Masala. The bill was around 1300 which included cigarette as well. You can not find cigarette on the beach so my friend requested the waiter to bring the cigarette from outside.

After the meal, we decided to hire a scooter to explore the entire city. So for that, we went to a guy near our hotel and enquired about the scooter. He arranged two Honda Activa for us and we paid 4,000 rupees for two days.

I didn’t know to ride a scooter so I sat as pillion with Saurabh and Swadhin rode another Activa. After getting the scooter we were feeling as if we had got the wings to fly. Now Goa became small as we decided to ride the scooter day and night.

After getting the bike our first destination was Baga beach. It was around 9 PM when we reached Baga Beach. I saw the nightlife at Baga beach, it was crowded, the loud music in the beachside restaurant. People were enjoying the music, some of them were dancing on the beach to the tunes of the music, I also joined them a couple of times.

After spending half an hour on the beach we drove to Anjuna Beach. The nightlife of Anjuna beach is almost same as Baga beach. I ordered Hukka and some snacks on the beach spent half an hour and left the beach.

After coming out of the beach we decided to go to a disco where we enjoyed the music and ambiance of the disc. We came out of the disc around 2 o'clock and started to our hotel and on the way to the hotel, we had dinner around 3 o’clock in the morning. We reached hotel around 4 o'clock in the morning and we decided to catch some sleep for four hours.

Year End in Goa: 31st December

On the day 2 in Goa our first task was to see the Baga beach once again as we saw it in the night yesterday so we decided to drive to Baga beach and after few minutes of drive from the hotel we were at Baga beach and the moment we saw it I just said wow. The real beauty of the beach could be seen only in the day. The beach was crowded majorly by the Indian people only, the water sports, paragliding and many more water sports could be seen there.

We took few pictures on the beach and we decided to move to Anjuna Beach. The Anjuna beach was considerably less crowded than Baga beach. You can find the rocky seashore on the Anjuna beach.

After the Anjuna Beach, we decided to head to Candolim beach. The Candolim beach had the foreign crowd especially Russian. This beach is beautiful and clean, maybe because of the foreign tourist footfalls.

We spent 1 hour on the beach and then we decided to have the lunch. We were running out of cash so we decided to leave the beach and have the lunch on the beach.
After the lunch, we drove to our hotel to get ready for the 31st night.
We went to club Tito's to celebrate the year-end and to welcome the new year 2017. Tito's is the most famous and the most expensive club in Goa. We enjoyed the music of the club till late night or early morning. We came home around 4 in the morning.

Celebrating New Year in Goa: 1st January 2017

We got up at 8 AM in the morning, wanted to take shower on the Morjim Beach but we were very tired so we decided not to go there rather taking shower in the hotel itself and started for Bangalore.
We checked out the hotel at around 11 AM and first work that we had to do is to return the scooter. We returned the Honda Activa and we boarded the bus near our hotel and we came to Mapusa and from Mapusa, we got the bus for Panjim. We reached Panjim around 2 o’clock in the afternoon. We had the list of the places to visit in Panjim but due to lack of time, we decided not to visit this rather we went for lunch where we enjoyed the Goan dishes. It was around 4 o’clock when we finished our lunch.
After the lunch, we were set to return to Bangalore. Our bus was at 5:30 in the evening so we waited for an hour outside the place where we had the lunch. Our bus came on time, we boarded the bus and we were on the way to Bangalore.
