Kasauli is a cantonment and small hilltown, located in Solan district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This town was developed by the Britishers during their rule in India. Kasauli is famous for its colonial style architecture. For Chandigarhians it’s a weekday outing but for other tourists, it can be a one night or 2 nights trip

Kasauli Brewery
Set up in the late 1820s in Kasauli by Edward Dyer, Kasauli Brewery happens to be the oldest distillery for ‘scotch whiskey’ in Asia. Edward brought the equipment himself from England and Scotland. Here in this brewery we can see the production of the whiskey and taste its samples too.
Christ Church
There is always a famous church in hill stations, Christ church is that church for Kasauli. This church is one of the most visited places of Kasauli because of its history and picturesque location of pine and deodar trees. The church is open daily from 7 am to 7 pm.
Sunset point
It is basically a viewpoint, which is located on the upper mall road. This road is opposite to the Christ church, the point is basically famous for enjoying the sunset at the evening hours. This road can a good trek for trekkers also.
The Mall
This is basically the shopping street of Kasauli, which is divided into two parts i.e. the lower and the upper mall road. You will find various shops and restaurants on this road. You will see local vendors selling Bhuttas (Corn), chai and pakoras. While most areas in Kasauli are off-beat, one must not miss this colorful hustle bustle of the town. The market is at its vibrant best during early evenings and an evening stroll here is highly recommended.
While walking down on foot to the Lower Mall, you will find a cruise ride among the eatery joints and the shops selling Tibetan products and other handicraft items. Well, it’s an ideal place to buy mementos for your loved ones. There is this one Famous Shiva cafĂ© on lower mall road; you will love the cuisines and beverages served by them.
Manki Point
The first thing to remember while visiting this point is that it is open all the 7 days from 10 am to 5 pm. It is the Highest point of Kasauli and is taken care by Indian Air force thus Cameras and mobiles are not allowed in this area because of safety reasons, so better keep your gadgets in your car or hotel itself while visiting this place. This place has got religious significance also as it is said that Lord Hanuman placed his foot while searching for the herbs for the injured Lakshmana in the Indian epic Ramayana. So be ready to trek a bit and visit the famous Hanuman temple at the top.
How to reach Kasauli
You can reach Chandigarh through rail, bus or by air through various cities of India, and then you can hire a private cab from Chandigarh which can take you to Kasauli, or you can opt for a bus.
Best time to Visit:
Summer months from April to July.
